Cost of Ownership

Typical cost structure for Sage X3 ERP:

License/Subscription Cost

On-Premise:

  • Perpetual license fee includes an upfront cost fee to own the software plus IP for a fixed term plus server license on top of named user license fee, maintenance and support fees plus customization, implementation and integrations costs
  • Full-user license costs $2,600/user

Cloud-based/SaaS:

  • Recurring subscription-based model – pricing is based on per module, per user, per month basis
  • The monthly subscription price includes access to Sage ERP X3, Sage Business Care support plus access to all updates and upgrades

Actual licenses and subscriptions for Sage Cloud are also sold through Sage Certified Partners

Maintenance Cost

On-Premise:

  • Cost is over and above the upfront cost/license fee
  • Requires on-going maintenance plus on-going upgrades support
  • Users have to enter into a maintenance agreement for annual support and maintenance. The cost of which is in the range of 10 and 20 percent of the original license fee

Cloud-Based/SaaS:

  • Not included in the subscription cost
  • Additional upgrades and updates are included in monthly based subscription model via Sage Business Care support

For both types of deployments, Sage offers three types of care support to choose from:

  • Bronze (18% of license costs per year) with no call support
  • Silver (21% of license cost per year) with five calls plus real-time learning courses
  • Gold (25% of license costs per year) with unlimited calls plus real-time learning courses
  • All three support packages include version upgrades, service pack updates and unlimited access to the online Sage Knowledgebase
Installation/Implementation Cost

On-Premise:

  • Cost is over and above the upfront license cost
  • Sage implementation partners can do On-Premise implementation almost 100% remotely

Cloud-based/SaaS: Cost is over and above the subscription cost

For both types of deployments:

  • Cost will vary based on number of users, system architecture, implementation scope and complexity, company size, industry, additional applications, add-ons and third-party integrations
  • Cost will vary depending on who is providing the implementation services: vendor, in-house or outsourced/third -party
  • Sage ERP products are sold through certified channel partners and local authorized partners such as Acuity Solutions, Blytheco, tCognition who can perform implementations
  • Cost will vary depending on the implementation partner chosen who can charge on per hour basis
