That said, for core HR, Dayforce and Workforce Now are strong contenders, as they have a strong focus on payroll precision and hourly workforce management.

The SAP ecosystem enables many winning software combinations and gives SuccessFactors a definite advantage if you’re already an SAP user. The native S/4HANA integration is a clear operational win: HR data syncs seamlessly with finance and supply chain systems, eliminating middleware and manual reconciliation.

A notable example is the [BT group](https://www.sap.com/asset/dynamic/2023/12/f0f30bc4-9f7e-0010-bca6-c68f7e60039b.html): they saved 1 million employee productivity hours annually and reduced HR processes from 200 to 80 after implementing SuccessFactors Employee Central alongside SAP S/4HANA.

My experience with SAP was on similar lines: when testing SAP Analytics Cloud, the interface looked simple and easy-to-navigate, but my experience was less-than-satisfactory. SAP has years of experience, so expecting a friendly first-user experience shouldn’t be asking for too much. In comparison, Workday excels in usability, offering a smoother interface, cleaner dashboards and stronger AI-driven recommendations. It’s also simpler to implement.

In summary, SuccessFactors is best if you’re a mid-market or enterprise company operating across multiple regions or industries with complex compliance and documentation needs — particularly if you’re already running SAP. If you’re looking for basic HR features like payroll, attendance or employee records, the platform may be overkill in terms of cost, complexity and implementation time.
