  • Employee Lifecycle Management: BambooHR simplifies the process of managing several key elements of the employee lifecycle. The software does this through an applicant tracking system (ATS), onboarding and offboarding features, e-Signature capabilities, and a tool for tracking each employee’s progress through their training. 
  • Employee Self-Service (ESS): With this feature, you can control common situations such as approving time off and providing employees with single sign-on (SSO). You can also build an organization chart and employee directory, and the module also offers a company calendar. 
  • Integrations: BambooHR has developed an open API to facilitate easy integration with a variety of applications. And the marketplace lets users find apps from BambooHR partners. 
  • Time Tracking: The time tracking module, offered as an add-on, encompasses a range of HR tasks. Employees can quickly enter their hours while HR managers can generate payroll reports, set reminders for pay periods, track employees hours via timesheets, easily review and approve timesheets, and calculate overtime. 
  • Performance Management: As an add-on feature, the performance management module provides tools that support improved employee performance. schoolTraining: BambooHR provides a number of options to support HR admins. These include webinars, the 30/30 series and an online support library. Weekly webinars give customers in-depth training on particular features via live sessions. The 30/30 series consists of continuing videos that discuss recent product developments (the last 30 days) and upcoming features (the coming 30 days). Finally, users can find answers by browsing the support library’s repository of articles, tutorials, previous webinars and blog posts.

A Serious HR Game Changer
What are the best aspects of this product? I really appreciate the intuitive nature of the interface, the ease of set up and use and the customer support given by the BambooHR team. They were able to add functionality I needed for tracking the training of our employees and really helped with a change in vacation accrual and PTO making the transition to a new policy very easy for me. I also LOVE the Applicant Tracking System! It has made our hiring process much more effective and efficient when recruiting for multiple departments at once.
What aspects are problematic or could work better? I wish I could add modules to the Dashboard and a few more items to the drop down menus in the Applicant Tracking System.
We have solved the lack of communication in the hiring and training processes when dealing with multiple departments and hiring. We have also given our employees a "company hub" acting as a resource for announcements, training and review documentation, and best of all...an accurate and easy to use Time Off and Vacation tracker making them feel more connected and aware of what is happening within the company, their department and with their personal work benefits

Very good HR system and support
The Employee data out of the box Reporting is good. Time Off Policies are very flexible. Access Levels are a twist to the usual Group and User management. Benefits management is good. Onboarding and Offboarding processes Document Template and e-signing Customization of Fields
Time Off Policies are very flexible, but requires to climb a learning curve, that at the time of the (paid) implementation process is not enough to learn. Some fields that are too tied to the US, when you have offices around the world this is not a pro, but you can hide those fields if you want to. Job openings are very limited Emails can't be customized with the company branding Don't have a true workflow for Onboarding and Offboarding activities Trainings management could be much better Customization of Fields is done by Support.
Have all your requirements very clear and ask for clarification. In my case, some of the requirements had to do with very flexible reporting and workflows and BambooHR fell a bit behind it. But those were not deal breakers and I trust that they eventually add those features.

Great HR Product
What are the best aspects of this product? What I like most about Bamboo is that it has now given me a centralized location for all my HR information/tasks. I wear several hats in my position and "HR Director" is only one of them. Bamboo has given me a format to streamline hiring, on-boarding, vacation tracking and benefits tracking.
What aspects are problematic or could work better? The only thing I would say I do not like is that a few times I have had issues with knowing if my new hires have received e-mails. It can be kind of confusing but I think I have it figured out now.
I find that our on-boarding process has improved and is more stream-lined. And the benefit of that is I am saving time in that process.
