It allows flexibility, as you have 1 router window open that you are working on and someone in the shop wants to have you take a look at another router, you just open another window and you can work on that router without disturbing the other router.
Pulling data out for charting on a micro level like by item number instead of the global level which looks at all of the part numbers that have been processed within a year instead of a snap shot by month. Quality metrics that are needed for ISO controls.
Hello, We have been using MieTrak Pro for 3 years at our precision sheet metal shop. We are a fairly small company and a job shop, which means we make and implement changes quickly. I need software that is as nimble and quick as we are. On the other hand, as an ISO certified company, we also need things to be done right and be fully supported including tracking our processes and archiving our prints and certs. We have come to use MieTrak for every aspect of the business with the exception of accounting and estimating. The software is great for creating and sending Purchase Orders, tying those purchases to active work orders, tracking the progress of the work orders, checking real-time tracking, sequencing routers, employee and machine center scheduling, and basically everything we need to manage sales, procurement, production and shipping. As a person who wears many hats and works in multiple departments, I enjoy being able to start from any process able to link through to any other process to find the data that I looking for. This is helpful when there are issues to resolve. For example, I can simply start with the PO# that I wrote for some material that came in and was rejected. With just that piece of data (the PO#), I can pull up the PO, find the associated Work Order, link to the Sales Order and see everything about the order that will allow me to make whatever informed decision I need to make. I can also see where the status of the order is based on the employee time tracking and router sequencing data that is tied to the work order. If you spend the time to learn the system and how to flow through the modules, you can basically know exactly what is going on at your company at any time and make decisions on the fly. This helps us identify issues faster, make decisions faster, respond faster and also inform the customer about any of these considerations, all in real time.
I don't have any major dislikes. Fortunately, if there are issues that I have (which come up from time to time), I just reach out to the MieTrak team and they either help me to resolve the issue, or include the fix in the next software release. They are very good about listening to what we want and then updating the software to do it.
MieTrak helps us to buy smart. We can run the MRP module and see our forecast for individual buy-outs, even if they are purchased for multiple customers across many sales and work orders. This tool has been a great cost saver and I can't imagine functioning without it. Another great function is the machine center loading/scheduling. We can plan as close or far into the future as we want to make sure that we are committing to accurate lead-times, avoiding bottle necks in the shop and scheduling the correct number of employees on any given day.

MIE Trak is very convenient and easy to use. It is pretty much straight forward, everything you enter or change under any Sales Order/ Purchase Order is saved. I liked how you can also view the last person that made changes in case of any discrepancies.
Sometimes the MIE Trak program is slow and takes a while for me to input data, it takes me longer than I should.

What I like best about MIE Trak, is how easy it is to manipulate.
I do not like the fact that I cannot delete any mistakes(WO) that can affect other modules.
We need to solve the issue of scheduling a small shop and we realized that we can schedule people or machines

As a project manager in my company I find the scheduling is very convenient using MIE trak.
There is not proper instructions or manual with the software.
We have improved our traceability of the jobs using the tracking report for each jobs.
Great value with many options and features
Great integration between various modules; transitioning from quote to sales order to work order to invoicing is very smooth. Customer support is great, usually same day - at least within 24 hours. If a change in the system can help you use the system more efficiently, they will consider it for the next update and try to make it happen. You can pick and choose which modules you use and it integrates well with Quickbooks.
It is somewhat difficult to train team members, especially those who aren't as experienced with computers and databases. Some features don't work as well if you have higher volume production runs, and if your materials are slit coil material or wire, but this can be worked around.
Great value, I spent a lot of time researching the various options out there, and this still is the best value product I've found.

"Myself : Creating custom Forms and Reports, difficulty finding the appropriate fields for data needed -- Field name in database is sometime different the field title that shows in module which can be tricky trying to find. Note: There are a couple of Modules we are not using: a. Invoices: ( we use QuickBooks) b. Quality Control: ( we have purchased -Unit-Point - integrated with MieTrak - our Quality Director can answer specifics regarding this if needed. c. CRM ( we have purchased our CRM Sales pipeline - which is integrated into outlook)
Weldflow Metal Products Experience of MIE Trak
We are using MIETrak version 11 and has it with us for last 4 years. The product has the flexibility to use different modules. Though the software has accounting capabilities and interfaces with Quickbooks, however, we only link it to download our vendors and customers and chart of accounts.The vendor has a very responsive technical support system and whenever there has been issues or items that we do not understand there has been technical support available to resolve an issue on hand for that time.
Weldflow is a sheet metal is a contract manufacturing facility in Ontario, Canada. We are a small company and was not sure of ERP software available for sheet metal environment. It has been a very intuitive experience with this software as it caters for almost all nuances of our operation.

The main reason for our choice was, as an accredited TS16949 Tier 2 Automotive supplier, we had to make sure that any new system provided the traceability and control that this standard requires and MIETrak Pro offers both. MIETrak Pro has given us the ability to take several standalone systems and incorporate them into one making it much easier to share information between employees at all levels. This has enabled us to move to totally live production bookings on the Shop Floor (via Kiosk) and live stock movements (via Barcode Scanner Server). This has improved stock accuracy as problems can be resolved at source and this leads to enhance MRP's effectiveness. MRP is the main driver for our business and MIE Solutions were open to develop their MRP system to one that I firmly believe is now World Class, not only proposing POs / WOs to meet demand but also suggesting move proposals for existing orders as customer demand changes, either short term or long term.The system is very cost effective, especially when compared to other like for like systems on the market today, but this in no way compromises what MIETrak Pro delivers. The reporting systems are excellent via Quick View Reports and if we've been unsure how to create a report MIE Solutions have been more than happy to assist us. Support / training is of a very high standard, quick response, excellent problem solving and very professional. MIETrak Pro has evolved in the time that we've been using the system with enhancements, some that we use, some that we don't, but it's predominantly our choice and timescale which is very comforting. Whilst Kiyokuni Europe Limited are not a sheet metal manufacturer, MIETrak Pro has seamlessly replaced our old ERP system within our manufacturing environment where we use multi level BOMs and Cellular production units.
We have been using MIE Trak for well over a decade
One word sums up the reason that we use and love MIE Trak PRO and MIE Solutions, FLEXIBILITY. This vendor is willing to help us configure their software to work the way we do instead of making us change our process to work the way the software does. In addition, the support we get from MIE Solutions is first class. They are very responsive to our support requests and don't make us wait for the next major release to provide a small modification we need now. The price of MIE Trak PRO is very fair for the powerful features it provides and the annual support charge is a good value for all of the time that MIE Solutions staff spends to make the product work better for us.
The main problem we have with MIE Trak PRO and MIE Solutions is a result of what we like most about them. Their flexibility and responsiveness in modifying the software makes it difficult for them to keep training materials and documentation current. We have also seen that occasionally updates can have unexpected results, but in each of those cases, support has worked with us to resolve the problem quickly.
When comparing manufacturing software, look beyond the features that the application has now. No software application will do everything you need right out of the box. You need to find a vendor that will work with you to squeeze every ounce of productivity from of that software. In our opinion, that company is MIE Solutions. Also consider the support you will depend on. The President of MIE Solutions once called me back late on a Saturday night from a baseball game he was attending with his kids to help me with a difficult problem I was having. That is not a usual occurrence, but I challenge you to find a company President that is more dedicated to his product than David Ferguson.
