Your Guide to Software Selection

21 Salesforce CRM Alternatives

While one of the most recognizable cloud-based software suites around, there are a number of Salesforce alternatives and competitors that provide many of the same features and functions. From web-based CRM to marketing automation integration, these Salesforce competitors may be more robust than you realize. In some cases, the alternatives even provide capabilities not available through Salesforce.

There’s no single CRM software solution that’s perfect for every organization, so it’s a good idea to know what your options are and to spend some time comparing CRMs that may be the best match for your organization’s needs. The primary Salesforce competitors for enterprise and small businesses include Infor CRM, SugarCRM, Netsuite/Oracle, and SAP CRM. We’ve provided these and other suggested alternatives down below:

What is the current CRM Market Share?

Before diving into the specific Salesforce competitors we recommend you take a look at, we wanted to give you an idea of a few CRM vendors’ market share.

As of 2016 (the most recent data available), Salesforce leads the way a 25% market share. After Salesforce comes a three-way tie for second place between SAP, Oracle and Microsoft with about 8% market share. As Chuck Schaeffer at CRM Search notes, these three providers may be tied for now, but they’re trending very differently. In 2010, Oracle had a higher market share than Salesforce, but it’s been declining ever since. Starting in 2013, it started declining even more rapidly. SAP similarly had a higher market share than Salesforce seven years ago, and although it’s been declining since then as well, it’s been a little steadier. Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM, on the other hand, was a very distant fourth place in 2010. Since then, it’s market share has been steadily increasing, and if the trend continues, Microsoft should have sole possession of second place in 2017.

Now to get your search started, we’ve created a Salesforce Alternatives Leaderboard, featuring the top 10 CRM systems (that are competitors to Salesforce):
