What is the current CRM Market Share?

Before diving into the specific Salesforce competitors list we recommend you take a look at, we wanted to give you an idea of a few CRM vendors’ market share.

As of 2016 (the most recent data available), Salesforce leads the way with a 25% market share. After Salesforce comes a three-way tie for second place between SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft with about 8% market share. As Chuck Schaeffer at CRM Search notes, these three providers may be tied for now, but they’re trending very differently. In 2010, Oracle had a higher market share than Salesforce, but it’s been declining ever since. Starting in 2013, it started declining even more rapidly. SAP similarly had a higher market share than Salesforce seven years ago, and although it’s been declining since then as well, it’s been a little steadier. Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM, on the other hand, was a very distant fourth place in 2010. Since then, it’s market share has been steadily increasing, and if the trend continues, Microsoft should have sole possession of second place in the near future.
