It’s less ideal if you need a low-maintenance, static reporting tool or advanced statistical scripting. Tableau works well for financial services, sales and marketing, and healthcare and life sciences. During the free trial, I found the platform fast and intuitive for average-sized datasets. Enterprise deployments are typically medium- to large-scale projects requiring careful data modeling and governance. It offers broad connectivity to files, cloud sources, and live networks, and offers web-embeddable dashboards. Tableau costs more than Power BI or Qlik, especially when you add Tableau Prep, which you’ll need. One notable limitation: real-time insights aren’t available because Tableau relies on snapshot-based data extracts.
